Has anyone used these braces? We were just told my 10 year old need braces. We were also told he is a good candidate for the invisalign. Does anyone have first hand experience using them? EXPERIENCED input would be helpful.
Invisalign?
yeah they are great if you do not want anyone to notice metal braces! I loved mine, in order for your teeth to move they do need to do some filing of the teeth during appointment.. minor though.. and keep in mind, you change the sets (trays) every two weeks, or sooner as advised by your ortho. It feels like tight %26amp; compacted in your mouth, but for me it was very worth not having metal braces. Keep in mind, for a 10 year old --- make SURE he does not lose them when he takes them out to eat. That was a problem of mine when I was 17 and I am 22 now. I cannot tell you how many times I threw them away after i sat them down on my tray when eating somewhere... They are really nice to have though -- not as fast as braces %26amp; they obviously can't move teeth around as well as braces, they can just push them back or forward a bit.. if thats all he needs tho -- go for it =)good luck
Reply:Unless your 10-year old is SUPER responsible, I would go with regular braces. The Invisiagn come out and need to be removed when eating... so he'd need to be very responsible at school to not lose them.
He's only 10. It shouldn't be an issue for him to get regular braces. And they're cheaper usually. See what he wants, and make sure to stress to him about the Invisalign.
