Invisalign?

I've looked at the site and would just like to hear from those who had it done...and how much money it cost you!!!...I hear that sometime one well brake and have to pay over again...so on son...So I'll like to know what you think!!!

Invisalign?
I just started the invisalign process about 6 weeks ago and I love it. I think it would take a lot of abuse for one of the aligners to break. They are pretty sturdy and I brush mine with an electric toothbrush.

When I started I researched several invisalign approved doctors. They vary in price doctor to doctor...not by too much. It all depends on how many aligners you need...obviously the more you need, the more expensive. I have 18 aligners for my top teeth only. The cost was around $3400. My insurance does not cover adult orthodontics. Thankfully through my dentist, they offer care credit. This is basically a credit card for various healthcare needs. This allows me to make reasonable monthly payments with no interest for 16 months.

For me it came down to doctors care, knowledgeability and comfort level. The doctor I chose made me feel very comfortable and I was completely confident in his ability as well as the staff of the office. They were very thorough in explaining everything and answering my questions

They are virtually invisible and most people can't tell...even after I tell them I am wearing them. I am using it to close a gap in my top teeth as well as bring them in a bit.

When you first get them, there is some discomfort. It is more of a pressure for a few minutes after taking them out or putting them in. But after the first 2 or 3 days...the go in and out very easily.

Reply:IRENE,

YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR ABOUT 1/3 OF THE TOTAL COST UP FRONT.

WHY?

THE DENTIST HAS TO PAY A HUGE LAB BILL FOR THE ALIGNERS TO BE MADE. THIS COST CAN BE $1,580 - $1,850. MANY DENTISTS DON'T LIKE PAYING THIS EXPENSIVE FEE, BUT IT'S WORKED INTO THE OVERALL TREATMENT PLAN.

IF ONE OF THE ALIGNERS HAPPENS TO ACCIDENTALLY BREAK IT IS QUITE EXPENSIVE TO OBTAIN A DUPLICATE, SO IT'S MORE PRACTICAL TO JUST START WEARING THE NEXT ALIGNER OF THE SERIES. THIS MAY BE SOMEWHAT UNCOMFORTABLE, BUT IT BEATS SPENDING TONS OF $ FOR A COMPLETELY NEW ALIGNER OF A SERIES.
Reply:For the amout of money you have to pay for your pocket up front..it really is better to just get regular braces and get it over with.
