Invisalign covered by Insurance?

I am 16 and have seiously messed up, crowded teeth. My parents don't have much money to work with. I have job and have begun saving money but i was just wondering if insurance would cover invisalign. Over the past year or so, I have saved up close to a thousand dollars so these reports of $5000+ for invisalign are really starting to depress me. I was wondering how much of the cost would be covered by insurance. I really need help because my smile, or lack there of, is affecting how people treat me. I really don't want to have a crooked smile, especially with college and serious carreer interviews coming in my future. Help me please?

Invisalign covered by Insurance?
Hope I was there to help you. I dont thing it is covered by insurance.
Reply:Usually not covered by insurance because they consider it cosmetic. To find out for sure call your insurance company and ask. Their number is on the back of your insurance card.
Reply:Good for you on saving for your new beautiful smile! Each insurance plan is different, so the best thing to do is to call the customer service # for your insurance carrier and ask. They will be able to tell you if any ortho coverage is available under your plan. Have you seen an orthodontist who has recommended invisalign? If not, you may want to set up a consult with an orthodontist (its usually free) to see what kind of treatment will be best for you. Invisalign does not work for everyone, especially if you have major misalignment of teeth. Most orthodontists have payment plans available to help finance your treatment over the length of your treatment. Hope this helps and good luck! A beautiful smile is worth it! =)
Reply:I hope I have the answer for you!

I know a dental coverage program that accepts ongoing dental problems, unless your orthodontic treatment is already in progress, if you haven't started them yet, i'm sure they will cover it.

for only $20 a month, your entire family is covered and you get 60% off the costs of orthodontic treatment! It's not insurance, but a discount dental card.
