Braces or invisalign?

well i am 17 years old and i am thinking about getting my teeth fixed! the only problem is that my front two teeth need work. the rest of my teeth are fine and straight. would it be better to just get braces instead of invisalign? if i get braces how long will they be put in and how much would they cost? and if i get invisalign in how long will they be put in and how much would they cost? another thing is that our family's insurance isnt that well so would they pay for any of the treatments??

Braces or invisalign?
I spent years in braces, had a lot of experience with all kinds of metal in my mouth (Braces, headgear, jaw operation questions? I’m your man!).

Metal braces is the answer, it’s not even a consideration.

1) Purely financial is the best reasons. You can expect to pay 3-4 times more for invisalign, and most insurance companies don’t cover invisalign

2) Metal Braces can be finely “tuned” to give you a perfect smile (not that it was imperfect to begin with!). Invisalign is a lot more “rough around the edges” and its not a perfect technique. Metal braces will give you the perfect result.

3) Unless you are super-trooper, Invisalign is almost impossible to 100% comply with. You have to take them out to eat, and then brush, and put them back. Then you “forget” to put them back, and at first it’s a few minutes, then a few hours, and you may go for weeks without wearing your invisaligns. Metal braces are in and stay in, no questions, no debate, no forgetting.

4) As a result of no 4 – metal braces goes quicker. If you forget to wear your elastics, the results aren’t as damaging as forgetting to wear the invisalign.

5) Metal braces does NOT hurt more. It hurts, lets not lie, but not nearly as bad as some people make you believe they do. But you get used to them – once! Invisalign is a lot more “getting used to” to go though, and they are always awkward in your mouth.

My educated two cents is that invisalign is an expensive gimmick towards the vain and egotistic, and should not be considered serious treatment.

Go metal, they work better, faster, cheaper, and they look real cool if you have the right attitude! If you are concerned about the looks of it – well, don’t. If someone rates you as “cool” or a “fool” because of your braces or lack thereof, they aren’t people worth knowing anyway. On the social scene, braces are great as “a$$hole detectors”!
Reply:I was debating the same thing %26amp; i've decided to get normal metal braces.

I've seen 2 orthodontists and both agree %26amp; said:

you wont get the same results %26amp; are not guaranteed perfect teeth.

invisaligns are WAY more expensive

and braces will come off sooner and give you the results you want.

To put it into perspective: invisaligns-$6800. braces-$3000

the choice was easy for me!
Reply:invisalign isn't noticeable and a lot less painful..BUT they aren't going to give you perfect [or almost perfect] teeth, which braces will.

if you don't mind some flaws go for invisalign if not go for braces, which btw are super painful when put on and tightened.

but invisalign is a lot more expensive.

good luck %26lt;3
