Invisalign and mouthguards?

I play lacrosse and the season starts in January. I am also getting invisalign braces in January. Can I fit a mouthguard over invisalign?

Invisalign and mouthguards?
Good question. Since you will be getting a new aligner every few weeks, you may well find your mouthguard won't fit over it--particularly if it fits well. If this is just a boil-and mold type of mouthguard, this isn't a big deal--if it gets tight around the aligners you can just get another. But if it is a vacuum-formed mouthguard made by your dentist, I doubt it will fit over the aligner--unless the impression for the mouthguard is made with the aligner in your mouth.

Talk to your orthodontist.

Reply:You probably can. But you can get special mouthguards for people with braces? Ask your dentist or your local sports shop.
