Braces, Invisalign, Extraction?

Well I really want invisalign, but my dentist said I can't have them because I might have to get an extraction, well I don't see why I wouldn't I be able to get an extraction if I could just take the invisalign off. I would get lingual braces, but that's too expensive and I don't want my mom to have to pay 8000-10000 dollars.

My teeth are really messed up too, like I hate smiling because they're messed up. :[

Braces, Invisalign, Extraction?
yes, your teeth may be to crowded for invisalign, invisalign is only used for minor gaps and spaces, but not actual crooked teeth. extractions are necessary if you need more space for overcrowding, usually the regular braces (the one with rubber bands) require extractions of 4 of the premolars.

but, I had the newer Damon System Braces, they dont require extraction, they dont have rubber bands, there is a shorter treatment time than regular braces, and they are much more comfortable to your mouth, and guess what, they are around the same price as regular braces. You should probably find an orthodontist in your area that has these braces. not many orthodontists have them yet, but my orthodontist was one of the first. it's around $5000-$6300 in the U.S. depending on location for these braces, which is the same price range as the ones with rubber bands. If you want the half-clear ceramic and half-steel brackets, you may only have to pay an extra $100 fee. but the all-steel brackets are the same they just are more noticable. but i had the half clear and half steel one. people couldnt exactly notice them as well.

Lingual Braces, really are much more expensive, and Orthodontists rarely do this procedure, because most do not have the skill to put them behind your teeth. they are much less comfortable because your tongue may be pressing against them too much, i highly suggest you dont get lingual braces just because you dont want everyone seeing your braces.

really, look into finding an orthodontist in your area that has the Damon Braces.
Reply:Impressions of your teeth are taken for invisalign, and if you remove a tooth the impression will be different with missing teeth. They wouldn't fit.

Why are you against normal braces? Thats better than having really screwed up teeth.
Reply:invisaline! I have braces right now and there not as bad as people say and mine have worked great but..
Reply:Is the tooth the dentist thinks you need extracting already completely in? If so why don't you have him remove it then let the site heal, then get fitted for invisalign? Once he places metal braces on he wouldn't be able to extract a tooth either. The reason you cant get invisalign now and have him extract the tooth once you have started the treatment is because they make moldings of your teeth and decide your treatment. If you have a tooth removed in the middle it would mess up the imprints. Like I said ask him if you can get the tooth removed before you start your treatment. If he doesn't give you a good answer, go somewhere else, I am sure there are plenty of other ortho's in your town that would love your business.
