Invisalign or normal braces?

is everyone a candidate for invisalign braces,if not,Why not

Which of the 2 is better and which treatment hurts less. How long is the treatment for regular braces compared to invisalign.and my last question is the cost of each treatment

Invisalign or normal braces?
i've had both...i had braces when i was in intermediate school, then i didn't keep up the retainer thing and ended up getting invisalign later.

i think the only real difference is that, regular braces probably help you more if you have really crooked teeth or if they need to be moved in a kind of complicated way. if your teeth aren't that crooked i would say to get invisalign.

i don't think one is better than the other, instead it's more like which one is right for you. and it probably matters how quickly your teeth will move...i dont' think one necessarily makes your teeth move faster than the other.

the one thing i didn't like about invisalign is having to take it out every time i ate or drank anything. since it's clear you can stain them from drinking anything colored. and you can't eat with them on because you could break or damage them.

the cost of treatment for invisalign probably varies with how many retainers they have to make to move your teeth. if you have to wear them for a long period of time and have to move your teeth a lot, i can see that costing a lot more. where as regular braces, they're only really changing out wires and tiny rubber bands that hold the wire on to the braces.
Reply:Not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign. Candidates for Invisalign need very little work done to their teeth. I suggest getting metal-braces. It all really depends on your teeth. Talk to your orthodontist.
Reply:Invisalign is cosmetically nicer to have, but it's effiency level is low low low! While it hurts less, you are paying thousands more and it takes much much longer to straighten out your smile. Braces hurt, but they are cheaper, you wear them for a much shorter period of time, and they are VERY effective! Normal braces run about $5000. Invisalign? Somewhere around $9,000-$15,000, depending on severity.
Reply:well, i just got braces not too long ago. so, i remember what my orthodontist told me. invisaligns are for alignment of the teeth. and braces are for crooked teeth. braces can also be used to pull teeth back or push forward. that's why i got mine. to pull mine back. i got mine for almost 8 months now. it doesn't hurt a bit. all you have to do is just follow the procedures. and you'll be fine. my treatment took two different days. first day you get your spacers. that is also the day where you have your pics taken. then after about 3-4 weeks, you get your brackets on. mine took about 45mins. but when it's time to get your ties and wire changed, it's only takes about 2mins once you sit. in my own opinion, having invisalign on makes your teeth look TOO glossy. i'd say braces. at least you can get the color of the ties changed. lol. i didn't get the metal brackets. i get the clear ones? have you seen those before? from a distance, my friends would as me, did you get a retainer? that's because you can barely see the brackets on your teeth. so, i suggest that. mine was about $3200. and regular metal ones is around $3000. it's a $200 difference. but it would look MUCH better. and invisalign, i'm not really sure. but good luck! hope you find the right one.
