Invisalign?

how does it work, is it hard to talk when you have it?

do you have to have a fiting so it fits you teeth

Invisalign?
You go to the dentist to get impressions made of your teeth. A month or so later you have a bunch of sets of trays that you keep in for 3 weeks. Change the trays every 3 weeks and see the dentist aboud once a month and you are set. Treatment times vary from person to person depending on how bad your teeth arem but the average is about a year.

Yes they do hurt when you put in a new tray for a few days, and they hurt for about a week when you first get them. You will also talk with a lisp for a week or so until you get used to them.

I have them in now and no one ever notices them. You take them out to eat and brush so you don't have any food restrictions. I completely reccomend them to anyone who is interested!
Reply:its likea clear retianer (if youve ever seen one) and if you havent, it is just like a clear tray that is perfectly molded to your teeth

i personally havent had them put ive heard from other people who have

i dont think youll get a lisp when you get them (a big bonus) and they actually do look invisible (another huge bonus!)

yes to get them, you have impressions taken of your teeth...no with invisalign you have to go back for appts. like every 2-3weeks, so you have to have time to commit to it and every single time youll have a new impression taken (because you have to adjust your teeth)

from what i know they works jsut as good as traditional braces, but if you have an underbite/overbite i dont think invisalign can correct them, where as with traditional braces you can have it corrected

keep in mind, more insurance plans will cover for traditional ones more often than invisalign, which are slightly more expensive than the regular type (sorryu i cant give you an actual number)

also, with invisalign yuou take them out to eat, but its very easy to "forget" to put them back in...know what i mean?

but they are good cause you cant really break it, they are invisible, work well, no lisp...but there are downsides to them, as ive stated

best thing to do is talk to your dentist and ortho to find out what you can afford and what will work best for your teeth!
Reply:You have an impression made only when you first start treatment. Each tray stays on for 2-3 weeks and you visit the orthodontist about once a month.

They are painful when you put in a tray. But they are much more appealing cosmetically than traditional braces.
