Invisalign Question?

I had a consultation with my orthodontist today and she talked to me about Invisalign. She said that if I get metal braces I'll have them for 1 1/2 to 2 years and I'd have Invisalign for aobut 2 years. Im going to be a high school senior and dont really want the metal braces for college. Is Invisalign a good choice for me or should I stick to the metal braces?

Invisalign Question?
im in the same situation as you.

my orthodontist told me the same thing.

so i ended up going with invisalign.

they are really cool. no one even noticed them.

and the biggest plus is that you can still eat whatever you want. and you dont have metal permantly stuck to your teeth!

the only down fall is that if your teeth start hurting (which they will) youll be somewhat tempted to take them out. but just bare with it and just pretend like you cant!!

if i were you i would go with invisalign; im so happy i did!!!
Reply:Metal braces are a better option , especially if you are young as they are more effective. From http://aches.in/dentalbraces.html
Reply:Cosmetically, I like the Invisalign, %26amp; if it does as good a job as the metal braces, why not go with them?
Reply:I guess you could say that I have dental experience and close relations to dentistry. The orthodontist and dentist both say that metal is better, invisalign will need 2 years because it simply isn't as powerful. Metal will (SHOULD) straighten your teeth once and for good!
Reply:i say go with invisalign it looks so much better and works the same in my opinion
Reply:We've done Invisalign for 3years now. In the cases we've done, results have always been faster than with metal braces.

Contrary to what many orthodontists will say (since they are more comfortable with metal) Invisalign IS powerful and can produce dramatic results in the hands of a skilled provider. It doesn't work in every case, but find out from someone who actually believes in the process.
Reply:Invisalign can often correct malocclusions as well as traditional braces can. Not always, but in many cases, the results can be similar.

If you have the option, I would go with Invisalign. There are other alternatives as well including lingual braces and clear bracket braces.

Hope this helps! Straight teeth rock!
