Invisalign Braces?

ok I'm about to turn 14, and i REALLY want braces! i think i would look goofy with metal on my teeth, and besides the point we can't afford them. I want to know if Invisalign braces are right for me, and if so how can I afford them?? I have teeth that are really really crowded, so i think it would be really nice to get them straight by my next birthday! Can anyone help me?

Invisalign Braces?
You would need to have a consultation with an orthodontist to determine whether or not you are a candidate for Invisalign. That being said, traditional braces work FAR better than anything else at getting results and helping maintain those results after you are in a retainer. The rule of thumb is metal is better than ceramic is better than Invisalign.

Another thing to keep in mind is that just because your teeth LOOK straight does NOT mean you are clear from issues as far as your bite goes. If you have a bad bite, it can cause TMJ problems down the road.
Reply:you have to wear invisaline longer than regular braces
Reply:the clear braces that you cannot see are only available privately and the cost depends on your orthodontist. they vary from £2000 to £4000 depending on how long they would take and also the cost of the clear squares that blend in.

the metal ones are not as bad as you think and you can also have different colours on the squares so you can personalise them.

the metal ones are the only ones your parents will not need to pay for as they are available under the nhs.

you would not look goofy with the metal braces, the squares are also alot smaller than they were even 5 years ago. they are still noticeable but you will have more teeth showing than brace.

but you are right, it would be lovely for you to have straight teeth for your next birthday.
Reply:if you can't afford braces, you cant afford invisalign either.

braces are a pain but they are worth it and will straighten your teeth better than anything else.

if you get them on now while you are still young you will have a beautiful straight smile for the rest of your life.

no pain, no gain.
Reply:Invisalign cost more than metal braces, and dont work as well if you need a lot of correction.

Speed braces will probably be your best option.
Reply:Chances are most orthodontists won't recommend Invisalign for you. Invisalign was made with adults in mind who didn't want all that metal in their mouth and for it to be less noticeable.

The other thing is, and I'm going through Invisalign right now, it works well and easy for adults because their jaws/head/teeth have stopped growing/shifting for the most part. Yeah, your teeth will always shift a little, but for the most part, what you see is what you get. I wanted to straighten my teeth and you go in for X-rays, pictures, and molds. And they can tell from that how to proceed. And because I'm out of puberty, it's pretty easy to straighten my teeth. I'm not really worried about my bite. It might not ever be normal but at this point, I don't care. You're only 14 so most orthodontists will still care about your bite and trying to make your teeth perfect.

The other reason they trust adults more with Invisalign is it's the patient's responsibility to see good results. You have to wear the aligners 22 of the 24 hours during the day. Not that you wouldn't, but they figure adults will stay on top of things better.

Lastly, Invisalign is usually more expensive than the regular braces. So, if you can't afford the metal ones, Invisalign will probably be more. Just get the metal ones. You're still really young.
