Invisalign instead of braces?

I am considering trying Invisalign. Any experiences, good or bad? Also, how much does it cost?

I have invisalign, on my last retainer now. They are FANTASTIC braces. People actually have to ask me if im wearing them and you can take them out when you want too :). Didnt have much pain with them either. Does depend on how "munted" your teeth are though. I had a madonna gap between my front teeth and a slight overbite. I know that invisalign can rotate twisted teeth, correct mild-average overbites and close gaps but if you have teeth that need to be moved down (ie theyre growing out of the top of your gums) then you would have to get traditional braces. Costwise i think theyre pretty expensive all round :/ I only had a top set done and that cost me $3200 New Zealand dollars, it would have been about 6500 for top and bottom. You might want to wait awhile because as more and more orthodontists become trained in invisalign, the prices are likely to decrease. Would be best for to see an orthodontist in your area, go to a couple and get quotes because some over charge more than others.


If you can get them though, the extra cost is worth it. I wouldnt have gotten any braces if i couldnt have gotten invisalign, im just too old to have normal braces (looks wise) in my opinion (im 21 btw).
Reply:I had regular braces for TMJ purposes. I was told that invisalign would not fix my problem regular braces $6000.00
