anyone else who recently started invisalign? i started mine on wednesday and so far i like them, its just the pain of taking out the trays and putting them back in, and then trying to eat when i take out the trays
Invisalign, is there?
I started Invisalign a year ago. The entire treatment was supposed to take 10 months. It was very painful and about halfway through the trays stopped fitting around my canine teeth and I had to start again.
I have had many of the trays come with sharp edges that cut my mouth. I had to file some down with a nail file.
Also, my dentist never told me about the mini saw that they drill your teeth with to 'create space'. It was only after three or four visits and payment in full that the drilling was mentioned. I only wanted my bottom teeth fixed from a slight overlap on the insisors but he insisted upon drilling the top ones. I think my teeth look worse than ever.
Now he recommends Lumineers to fix it. I wish I had been better informed from the beginning.
Using Sensodyne to brush your teeth with will help when you get a new tray. I couldn't eat anything for the first couple of days my mouth was so sore! I lived off of Odwalla smoothies!
Good luck! :)
Reply:I completed my invisalign a few months ago. As large as a pain it was to take them out, eat, brush and put them back in.. the results were well worth it.
I know what you mean but stick with them.
Reply:I started mine 3 months ago. I can already see results in the spacing of my teeth. I really like them so far, but in the beginning I wanted to quit right away. I couldn't get the trays off and my whole mouth was so sore. TRUST ME it gets better. Give it a week. Right now I can't even feel them in my mouth most of the time and the trays come out easier too. I grab them from the inside of my mouth on both sides and pull them out. I hope it gets better for you! Stick with it the results will be amazing!
Reply:the pain is due to the pressure from the aligner to your teeth in order to align correctly yours. This is common and i´ll stop once your teeth are better align, give a couple of months
